To our valued soul family and community ❤️
*An Important Notice From The Wind Down*
The Wind Down Music & Arts Festival is built on the foundation of our community with the principles of peace, love, unity, respect, responsibility, and accountability… PLURRA.
That last letter matters, A for accountability. We hold all of our artists, and ourselves, accountable to our Code of Conduct. It applies not only at our event, but everywhere our community gathers, including online. Discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated: not toward women, not toward any gender identity, race, orientation, ability, or age. Not at our festival, and not from anyone who represents it.
We are all a family, a community of unique and diverse individuals that come together for not only the art and music, but the community itself. Every artist, volunteer, vendor, staff member, and performer of The Wind Down is part of this welcoming and inclusive community that we build together, and that welcoming inclusivity only works when everyone feels safe interacting with it. Our festival is a place where families, children and diverse people attend, where everyone deserves to feel safe on or off of the dancefloor, and we will protect that safety.
To every femme DJ, producer, flow artist, fire spinner, dancer, sound tech, workshop facilitator, photographer, and coordinator on this year's lineup and crew: you were chosen for your craft and the countless hours behind it. We are proud to have you, and we stand with you.
We won't be discussing individuals publicly, and we'd ask you not to speculate or send anyone hate on our behalf. That isn't what we're about.
Please familiarize yourself with our Code of Conduct: thewinddown.ca/code-of-conduct
If you feel that someone involved with The Wind Down has breached this code of conduct, we have an anonymous reporting form where you can let us know your concerns; linked on the page above.
In closing if the P.L.U.R.R.A. mission statement is not something you stand behind, please refrain from attending The Wind Down Music & Arts Festival.
Thank you for holding space for us all to do better together.
See you at Labyrinth Lake Lodge in September.
Warmly,
The Wind Down Festival Board of Directors
