As we gather for The Wind Down on these sacred lands (Labyrinth Lake Lodge, Alberta, Canada), we pause to recognize the deep relationships that Indigenous Peoples hold with this place—past, present, and future. This is Nêhiyaw-Askiy (Plains Cree), Ĩyãħé Nakón mąkóce (Stoney), Očhéthi Šakówiŋ, Niitsítpiis-stahkoii (Blackfoot), Tsuut’ina, and Michif Piyii (Métis) territory. We honor these stewards and their enduring connections to the land, waters, and all beings here.

Inspired by their care, we commit to leaving no trace, packing out what we bring, and leaving this place better than we found it. Through music, art, and gathering, we nurture our own relationship to this land—not just as a backdrop, but as a living teacher. Let’s move with gratitude, humility, and respect for the families, creatures, and ancestors who call this place home.
